FINAL CHECK ON DISSERTATION (MON)
I have spent the past week focusing only on writing, taking this time to proof-read as well as doing thorough checks, and will only focus on practical work after submitting dissertation.

THE UAS CAREER FAIR
Admidst the busy week, I had also signed up for 2 workshops - "Designing Your future" by Tamsin Greulich Smith, Director of Design Practice from The Design Singapore Council, and "Commercial Viability, Crafting an Expanded Practice in Graphic and Print Design" led by Miguel Chew, Marie Toh, Sarah Tang, Alison Schooling and Jovan Yeo.
'Graphic & Print Panel'
𖥔 I have learnt that sometimes for the nature of an installation or exhibition, a print is good to further explain; if the reason is apparent. Hence in relation to my project, I am planning to have printed brochures, explaining about the 3 mini exhibits, the purpose, value and experience I aim to provide and achieve through my artefacts.
𖥔 There was a strong emphasis in talking about the cruiciality of the everlasting passion for design in this talk. The passion is what drives the hunger to learn new things, knowing how to combine things together to stand out from others.
𖥔 An interesting takeaway from the talk was that the root of the word 'Passion' in Latin is 'Pati' which means "suffering, enduring". This was a far cry from the way we usually toss the word around in our day-to-day conversations. Perhaps this spoke to me because as much as I felt like I was breaking down, enduring the challenges and sufferings of countless fails and the endless trial and errors, I never gave up on this project and I would say am growing with a greater desire to complete this project to the best of my abilities.

Reflection and Thoughts
I have about 4 days to prepare for the roundtable session that's happening next Tuesday where I want to showcase low-fidelity finalised artefacts before polishing it to be ready and in time for the Open Studios that's happening in a few weeks.
Due to the realisation that time is running short, time constraints weigh heavily on my mind, especially considering the duration it took for me to complete my initial prototype in Semester One. Additionally, I am grappling with concerns on how I can further expand my project and present it in a way where it would reflect me strongly as a graphic communication designer and soon-to-be job seeker. I tried my best not to let these concerns take a toll on me, stop overthinking too much about the upcoming Open Studios or final Graduation Show and focus more on making the present better.

CONSULTING CHAT GPT
Plan Mockups
I encountered a problem where I have not bought copper tapes or copper wires yet so I asked Chat GPT if there are any wiring alternatives that are conductive.
Since I have conductive electrical paint with me currently, I had the idea of painting it over any wires, wondering if it would work. However, Chat GPT replied that if the wire is made of plastic, rubber or any non-conductive material, then painting layers of electrical paint will not do the trick as the paint is unable to penetrate the insulation and electricity still can't pass through unless I have a way to strip off the outer-insulated material.

dropping dots of electric paint over the wire and speading it to act as glue, a small area of paint is also connected to the front of the canvas at the bottom left, acting like a circuit the paint completely dries and the wire is attached, it turns out to be stronger than I thought. Wire was held in place well even after attaching and detaching crocodile clips to the wire multiple times Paint electric paint over the swing, bottom right leg is painted across the canvas borders to the back of canvas, where the paint connects and touches the metal wire
LOW-FIDELITY
PROTOTYPE TEST
Set-Up
Here, I tried using a masking tape to tape the twist tie wire down instead of using electric paint as 'glue', and it still works despite the masking tape being non-conductive. It's probably because I painted electric paint all the way to the back and double-coated the wire so the conductivity is strong.
Other than using the twist tie, I found mini conductor wires and they work too but unfortunately they are too short if I want to make a bigger canvas. I also felt that the wire was slightly harder to bend and not as flexible as a copper tape which would be the best option and I'm definitely planning to use that for the final outcome.

02 - masking tape with non-painted twist tie wire,
03 - masking tape with mini conductor wire
Surprisingly, the twist tie works the best in terms of conductivity, sensitivity and durability with conductive paint that acts as a glue to seal on the canvas. The masking tapes are easily peeled off and the conductor wire is not as sensitive to touch.
